WHAT’S YOUR STORY? I grew up in Atlanta GA. When I was about 4 years old my Mother and I were shopping at Lenox Mall. There was one particular store that we were walking by and I stopped and pointed and told her that she needed to shop there. Well the store is no longer there but now I have my own store which I can guide my customers to find that perfect outfit.
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO LAUNCH VIVA BOUTIQUE? From working in the retail business for over 30 years, I wanted to start calling the shots from what to buy, to hand picking all my own custom jewelry and clothing lines for my clientele. I wanted to give my client something that she had not experienced before shopping. While she shopped in my store I wanted her to feel free from distractions and pressure in her purchase. The most important feeling for her to experience was to feel comfortable and safe as she reaches out to try something new on.
HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME FOR VIVA BOUTIQUE? When I finally decided to go ahead and do my own store, the word “Viva” was in most of my life experiences. Such as Viva Vacations and Viva Las Vegas, which were places that I recently traveled too. My daughter studied Spanish who I was visiting and asked her what it meant and she said that Viva means Live. That is when it hit Me with the name, Viva Boutique! I want everyone to feel like they can “live” in my clothes!
WHAT MAKES YOUR STORE UNIQUE? The main thing that sets me apart from others is that when my customer walks in my store they feel as if they are in the comfort of their own home. Such as their Closet. Here at Viva we help guide our customer to their Style of choice and then give them the tools to make Their outfit one of a kind. That is what I am in business for, to help women find confidence in who they are by looking their best.
WHY DOWNTOWN CONCORD? I chose Downtown Concord because I love the charm of the Historic Union Street. Viva has a Vintage Southern Charm about her in the decorating and in how we interact with our customers. That is something that I always wanted to experience in a retail environment. With good ‘ol southern hospitality is what I want each customer to experience when they walk through my door!
